Stop Depending on Algorithms and Engage Your Curiosity

I use my library card more often than my debit card. As a child, I frequented libraries, and as an adult, they continue to provide useful services, information, and materials that improve my everyday life. While every library is not created equal, chances are your local library provides access to more physical, digital, and online resources than you could ever imagine.

More Helpful Than YouTube

YouTube is the place to find quick answers, funny cat videos, and plenty of opinions; it is not the first place to look for solid, expert-level intelligence on a subject. Billions of short-form videos from millions of enthusiasts on lots of subjects create the strong illusion of entertainment posing as good information.

It isn’t easy to gain mastery through short-form infotainment. For this, you would likely have to search multiple videos, and they would be out of sequence and have informational gaps. Libraries provide access to courses, videos, and books so you can find the correct information in a suitable format from the right expert.
